1. How long have you been involved with MFR work? 6 years some of which has been in Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol work and at Anglicare WA...

 2. In the last year, what has been a positive influence on your work?The passion and enthusiasm of the people who work in our industry with men, and often very difficult men, never ceases to empower me to try harder. One of the newer members of the MensTime team has recently developed a new program called Fathers Empowering Sons which was recently launched with an enthusiastic response.Finally, the men who come to our service for help, because it takes a lot of courage for most men to admit they need it...

3. In the last year, what has been a challenge for your work?Starting new programs and getting men to trust them enough to attend.I have just started a new program at a local prison for prisoners who are three months from release.It is designed to help them as they re-enter their relationships or start new ones. Not having done this before lead to a lot of apprehension but that has now gone due to the positive response form the guys attending...

4. What is the most important tip you would give another new MFR practitioner?Look past the facade of the bloke who arrives at your service, find the real guy he is in there somewhere and you will probably like him!
